Not only is the weather warmer, but the surprise of an unexpected gift during the middle of summer is sure to get you noticed and fondly remembered by clients, service providers, professional services and vendors alike. Lisa Kelly, Director of Marketing and Sales for Four Seasons Retirement Center, celebrated Christmas in July last year with outstanding results—receiving thanks from many of the doctors who were thanked for their services to Four Season’s residents and referrals to the facility.

“That was the one theme that resulted in a lot of call backs from doctor’s offices,” says Lisa. “They thought it was cute.” The unusual time of year made the Christmas in July gifts really stand out and made the service providers and their staff feel extra special.

Although showing gratitude is a key philosophy for Four Seasons, it can be hard for a company to be continually creative in their approach to gratitude, especially after being in business for half a century. “We are trying to do things that haven’t been done in the previous 50 years,” Lisa explains. “This was something different,” she says of the gifts that were distributed to hospital discharge planners, doctors and other key contributors on July 25th to mirror the Christmas holiday.

Lisa especially appreciates the ease of working with Indy City Gifts’ Deb Walton, “She makes life so easy.” All Lisa has to do is call or email Deb and appreciation gifts, welcome baskets or new patient bags appear at Four Seasons in Columbus, Indiana with an ever-changing array of delicious goodies and treats. “She does so much for us,” adds Lisa noting that Deb touches base with her regularly to ensure that the busy rehabilitation and retirement center is always well stocked with gifts for new residents or patients.

Christmas in July is a great time to send “Christmas” gifts—which can be customized to reflect almost any theme, such as BBQ or Summer Picnic. Four Seasons opted for a modified Christmas theme which included a Holiday sugar cookie mix, peppermint chocolate and sugar plum jar along with other year-around foods to make the gift both fun and practical.
